Lunch At Mimi's

Teri Ivie, Laney Benedict, and myself went to lunch @ MiMI's recently. Laney is moving to New York State soon, and we needed to spend some quality time together eating, eating and eating. We also make our plans around food. We have been friends for a long time now, as we were neighbors. We have celebrated birthdays, had scrapbook over-nighters at Park City, done lunches, and mourned the death of our friend Shannon. At one time we all played BUNKO together. What great memories. Good luck Laney--as we will miss you alot!

Is George Bush for real???

I can't believe my ears. After seeing the President on 60 Minutes and listening to some of his "State of the Union" address, I am in disbelief. This man is train wreck. What is he thinking, or not thinking? Win in Iraq? Send more troops? I know he is a lame duck kind of guy now--but he is incredibly stupid. Does he think we are all brain dead? Wake up Utah and quit thinking that is he "the right". Right choice? There is the subject of Chris Cannon. How does this idiot keep getting elected? Does the righteous right just blindly vote for every Republican? Someone needs to put a muzzle on him. Then there is his brother Joe--the new editor of the Deseret News. Now where did that come from anyway? The only other choice that could have been worse would have been Sweet Sister Sherry Dew.......

The day that Rumsfeld resigned, I heard it on the radio on my way to work. I told a girl there what I had just heard, and she almost broke down in tears. Why he is is doing such a good job. UNBELIEVABLE. You might feel different if you had son or daughter in Iraq.

Doesn't anyone watch Anderson Cooper and CNN? Ever listen to Wolf Blizter? Larry King? I feel bad for the next President, as George will leave his mess for the next one to clean up.

Jackson Hole Wyoming trip--what a bummer....

OK--so here is another Murphy moment. Joel and I went to Jackson Hole, Wyoming with Paul and Stacey Bliss to plan our summer wagon train. I was working on needlework, and when it got dark I put my things away. Somehow my very sharp scissors fell out of my bag, and I managed to sit on them and they went into my rear end about two inches. Not so good==it bled pretty bad. Joel had to pull over and find the flashlight and the first aid kit. Well it was dark and it was also 12 below zero..... To make a long story short--he had to doctor my wound in the dark and cold with the flashlight as his guide. I will never live this one down, will I? Anyway here are some of the pictures I took on the trip. The one is of Stacey taken at The Bunnery. We also got to eat at Bubba's--something you can never do in the summer--it is always too long of a wait. The other pictures are of Kelly Hot Spring, The Tetons and my favorite animal--the moose.

2006 Favorite pictures!!!

These are some of my favorite pictures I have taken this year:

Jayda and the camera

Jayda grabbed grandma's camera and she was busy taking New Year's Eve pictures. She took pictures of SNUGGLES (the elderly cat who has 10 lives), JAKE (the blind fox terrier who keeps falling in to the neighbor's window well) GRANDMA (who was caught scrubbing the floorts) and JAYDA herself--her own self portrait!

Christmas2006

OK--I am never in the pictures, because I am the one who takes them. Here are a few scenes of the day. On Christmas day we had a big breakfast--using my new electric griddle. We all took a nap and then later went to the Wimmer's for Christmas dinner. We had ham, rolls, jello, funeral potatoes, etc. I was glad when it was over--as I was really tired. The frame shop was VERY busy with last minutes customer's who wanted"just a mat". DUH--time is up. Some people just never learn. "Well, what am I going to do?" I just have no answer to that one.....

Jayda's 5th Birthday Party

Jayda turned five years old---December 20th. We had the family over to celebrate with birthday cake and ice cream. She had really grown up fast.

Murphy Clan Christmas Party 2006

The Belliston's are certainly getting a work out when it comes to entertaining. We had the Murphy Christmas Party at their house. We had soups and salads and deserts, exchanged presents, visiting and went home!

Temple Square

We managed to squeeze in a short visit for Temple Square this year. It was very cold! We ate at the Training Table before we went to Temple Square. Natalie was at her Burn Unit Christmas party.

Thanksgiving @ Ashleigh's

Ashleigh had Thanksgiving at her house this year. What a relief for me--that relieved me from all of stress! I cooked the dressing, sweet potatoes, and cranberries. Jenny and Eric did the turkey and gravy, Ashleigh did the potatoes, and Natalie attempted to do the rolls.........
Ashleigh and Jenny made the pies. It was great.

Jayda's Halloween costume

This is one of many Jayda's Halloween costumes--Tinker Belle. She also has Ariel. She is getting ready for trick or treating......
