P.S. Mary turned 60 this year too

Mary and I go back quite a while....like the early 1980's to be exact. We were great friends the first time we meet. In fact, she was the first person I meet when I moved to the house I am in now. Her daughter Lizzie delivered our newspaper, she lived down the street and we were in the same LDS ward. Our daughters were the same age and we had a lot of fun together. Her daughter Angie hatched the plan for a surprise party, and her out of state kids came for the celebration. It was good to see everyone together, since we had not seen them for many years. Mary I am not too far behind you------- soon I will be 60 too.....Mary and Joel--having a good laugh.

Christmas Day

Christmas day takes forever to get here, and it is over in an instant! We received tons of goodies from the neighbors and our friends. It was a wonderful day and it ended too soon!

TRAIN TRIP TO GLENWOOD SPRINGS, COLORADO--THANKSGIVING

For Thanksgiving this year our whole family made a trip to Glenwood Springs, Colorado for the holiday. We left Wednesday morning, at 5:40 a.m. and arrived at Glenwood Springs around 1:30. We have made this trip before with some dear friends, and wanted to experience the train ride again. This time we had more family members--totalling 13 in all. It was a wonderful experience, as we could sleep, read, and eat. The grand kids had a fun time coloring and playing games, and they could get up and walk around. We had a buffet dinner at Hotel Colorado, the place where we stayed. We went swimming in the Glenwood hot springs pool twice on Thanksgiving. Jenny and Ashleigh went shopping at Target and got all the things they wanted for "Black Friday" shopping. The town is so small that there were not the crazy shoppers that we experience here!!!!!! No one beats the door down that early in the morning there!!! On Friday, we rented cars and went to Aspen, Colorado for the day. It was snowing there, but we had a great time anyway.Later that evening the hotel had a lighting ceremony and Christmas program. During the program Natalie got engaged to Pua. We are all excited for her. We boardethe train on Saturday at 1:30 and we were home by 9:30 that evening. It was the best trip ever, and we would like to do it again.
